History
During the last decade Mick Zalesky has created a body of remarkably interrelated outdoor and indoor sculptures, site specific installations, artistic projects, designs and paintings for domestic and commercial applications.
His prolific and consistently engaging output, ranging in size from the small and delicate to the vast and monumental, has distinguished the artist as one of the most multi talented, working hands on and highly skilled in computer technology.
With a constantly updated product and material knowledge he is able to design and create artworks for commissions and if required computer render the concept in situation to allow visualization before the piece commences.
Recycled metal, is central in the sculpture with a major focus centering on interaction of these materials.
At the most basic level the work is about the marriage of the natural with the human-made.
Timber is sometimes used as an assemblage element, the recycled metal is very time specific 20th century industrial.
Born in Brisbane Australia, Mick Zalesky grew up exploring the natural environments of the east coast.
After attending Queensland college of art he went straight into adverting agencies where he quickly became art director and
mastered professional illustration and design disciplins.
He became a creative director, setting the image and creative standards for major national and international companies winning
many awards worldwide.
He made time to constantly to exhibit paintings and sculptures, gaining many commissions and a widening following for his
work both locally, nationally and internationally.
He now has an art and design practice doing what he enjoys for clients.

I enjoy being able to envision concepts in my mind, and then create them out of nowhere. My sculptures are not created
just because I want to sell them.
They are made because I want to see these ideas exist before me.
